Hello! I am Tim Nightingale. I work as data and analytics architect. I have a passion for all things data and tech, often blending them to create innovative solutions.

I am able to offer an unbiased, well-researched, and thoughtful response because I am not associated with any platform, vendor, application, or cloud provider.

Maturity evalutation

Just as analytics enables an organisation to move forward with better-informed decisions, so do the analytical products available.

An independent maturity assessment will tell you if you have the right tools for what you could deliver in the short, medium, and long term.

Strategic planning

Analytics plays a small but very important part in the organisation and, as such, should be included in all business strategies.

How do your analytical applications integrate with existing and planned systems, ERP, planning, data, manufacturing, data governance, etc.? Does the upgrade or replacement of any system impact your analytical capabilities? Has your disaster recovery plan been updated recently to reflect your current business needs?

Advisory services

An independent view of how you are delivering your current and planned programmes can provide ideas that might have been forgotten or left out due to previous constraints. An unbiased comparison between the applications required for delivering your strategy might uncover additional capabilities.

Training

You might be planning to roll out a new application but do not have the time or capability to up-skill colleagues while continuing to support the existing processes. I can help deliver, plan, and even create training packages to suit your needs before, during, and after your planned go-live.

Security design

As new applications are released, it appears that ensuring an effective security model is in place changes as well. Security paradigms are primarily user- or object-centric, each with its own set of advantages.

However, security is about the entire end-to-end solution, not just one application. Authentication and authorisation being the starting points, and ensuring that all data security ‘rules’ are” are followed at all times.

Lifecycle and development frameworks

Applications can each have their own preferred method of lifecycle development, and ensuring they all fit together, along with an organisation’s methodology, allows for smoother project delivery.

This could include checkpoints, gates, and legal compliance obligations.
